City in Morocco with 380,000 inhabitants. Tetouan is situated slightly inland from the Mediterranean Sea, only 40 km east of Tangier, in the north of Morocco. The economical base for Tetouan is trading of agricultural products, like grain, citrus friut, livestock, crafts, and vegetables. Industries of Tetouan produce cigarettes, soap, matches, flour, textiles, and building materials.
HISTORY
14th century: Tetouan is founded.
Around 1400: Destroyed by Spain.
End of 15th century: Rebuilt by Moorish
